Claire C. Hesse, LPC, LMFT, NCC
Claire Hesse is a Licensed Professional Counselor,
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a National Certified Counselor. She is qualified according to Louisiana
Statutes as a Child Custody Mediator, Child Custody Evaluator, and Parenting Coordinator. Her background in child development
includes a B.A. in Elementary Education, a M.S. in Counseling, and clinical training in family systems therapy at the LSU
Medical Center Institute of Law and Psychiatry. She has received specialized training in Custody Evaluation, Parenting Coordination,
and Collaborative Divorce through the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Mrs. Hesse has worked as a therapist,
mediator and instructor at the Divorce Center, as a Child Custody Evaluator at Family Services of Greater New Orleans,
as a Pre-trial Diversion Counselor with the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office, and was a classroom teacher
for seventeen years. She is past president of the Family Mediation Council, and served on the Board of Directors of Trinity
Counseling and Training Center as the Clinical Services Committee chairperson. Hesse has conducted annual mediation training
seminars for Loyola University School of Law since 1994. She has completed over a hundred cases involving divorce,
custody and visitation, parent/child conflict, property division, and employment disputes. Mrs. Hesse has a private practice
specializing in individual and couples’ counseling, family mediation, custody evaluation, and parenting coordination.
She has been qualified as an expert witness in child custody matters in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, and St. Bernard
Parishes.
