WHAT IS FAMILY
MEDIATION? It is an alternative to the traditional adversarial process
of litigation in the family courts and helps in resolving the disputes associated with separation and divorce, family business,
eldercare, inheritance, and parenting. It is a cooperative process
in which parties work together with a neutral mediator to reach agreements on such issues as parenting arrangements, financial
support, property settlement, business arrangements, and other family matters. Once an agreement is reached, it may then be taken to each party's attorney for review and legal implementation.
The charge for mediation services is $150 per hour which
is usually divided equally by the parties unless the court has ordered some other arrangement. There is no charge
for document preparation. Learn more about family mediation.
